Crystal clear cases for the iPhone 6 and 6 Plus have been on the market since they debuted on September 19, 2014, and the competition is tough. So why break into such a highly competitive market?

"As Linda and I talked about a cover that would allow the iPhone 6 to be experienced the way it was meant to be," adds Patty, also an Ocean619 Co-Founder, "we saw that some cases were so thin they offered scratch, but no drop protection. We wanted our customers to breathe a sigh of relief that their investment had the needed 'oops' protection. Right about that time is when our manufacturer presented his interpretation of our concept. We laughed. It was exactly it and smooth feeling too."
While the clear case has been an answer to the Apple aficionado's challenge, Ocean619 has been an answer to the sisters' dreams. Patty relates, "Linda and I often talked of starting a business together but I don't think either of us ever thought it would become a reality as we were both content though on opposite coastlines. But with our mother's advancing age, I realized it was going to take both of us, along with our younger brother, to rally around mom. It was time to come back home to San Diego. Though city life has been a bit of a shock, being so near to my family and shaping a new business venture with Linda, has become a 'pinch-me' reality."
"I knew this would be a challenging schedule with the current family business and already busy schedule," says Linda, "but the opportunity to start a business with my sister, after all these years, was exciting and super motivating."
With both sisters on the West Coast, they began to study several product avenues and work out a business plan that would unify and embody both of their passions and goals. The entrepreneurial gene runs deep in the family. Their father, husbands, brother and children all run their own successful businesses. Their dream has taken shape.
