PermaCharger Provides Helpful List For Packing Carry-On Bag

(IT-NEWSWIRE.COM, May 21, 2015 ) Monroe, NJ -- Whether the trip is domestic or foreign, packing for airplane travel can be stressful for many people. When packing carry-on luggage, it is important to understand which items can and cannot be brought onto an airplane, per TSA regulations. With these standards in mind, it will be easier to pack items in a carry-on that not only serve a purpose at the final destination, but also used during the flight. PermaCharger created a packing list that highlights the items that should and should not be included in a carry-on bag.

Items That Should be Packed in a Carry-On Bag:

Medications, ID, and Money. Three of the most vital items that should not only be in a carry-on bag, but should also be readily accessible. A several-day supply of medication should be packed in case luggage is lost and is not able to be retrieved immediately. Medications that are liquid or requiring needles will need a doctor's note to avoid being confiscated. Identification - photo ID, passport, visa, etc. - is required to pass through security successfully. Before heading to the airport, travelers must research the type(s) of ID required for their final destination to avoid

Electronic Devices. These items can include a cell phone, a tablet (e.g. iPad, nook, Kindle, etc.), laptop, mp3 player, and portable charger. A portable charger will be able to charge small electronics without relying upon an electrical outlet. PermaCharger has two models of portable chargers that charge devices quickly via USB power cords. The 11000 mAh portable charger has a dual output and provides its users with the following benefits: 70 hours of talk time, 50 hours of Internet use, 55 hours of WiFi use, 55 hours of video playback, 250 hours of audio playback and 1,250 hours of standby time on most devices. The 8000 mAh portable battery charger has a built in micro USB charging cable (which acts as an output), a built-in male USB connector, and a second output. Both portable chargers come with free accessories, which include the AC USB wall adapter, an iPhone 5 lightning cable, a micro cable, and connectors to charge a variety of devices.

Change of Clothes. In case luggage is lost or a flight is delayed/canceled, it is important to have a change of clothes in a carry-on luggage. This will prevent travelers from sleeping in/wearing clothes from a previous day during the remaining parts of their journey home.

Toiletries. If a traveler finds themselves spending an unexpected night at a nearby airport hotel, the airline will seldom provide a travel kit with small toiletries to facilitate the inconvenience. Toiletries that should be packed must meet TSA guidelines, but should include a toothbrush, toothpaste, mouth wash, face wash, disposable razors and their cartridges, and deodorant.

Items to Not Pack in a Carry-On Bag:

Liquids over TSA's 3.4 oz rule. Be sure not to violate this rule, as toiletries larger than 3.4 oz will be confiscated at security. Also, make sure all travel-sized items fit in a quart-sized, clear zip bag. If a specific shampoo/conditioner/soap is not available in a travel size, they can be stored in small plastic bottles, which can be purchased at drug stores and meet TSA regulations.

Unwrapped Food and Specific Foods over 3.4 oz. Food can be packed in a carry-on bag as long as it is not opened or unwrapped (e.g. an uneaten piece of fruit can be packed in a carry-on bag, a half-eaten piece of fruit must be either finished before going through security or thrown away). Foods that are heavier than 3.4 oz include cranberry sauce, creamy dips and spreads (cheeses, peanut butter, etc.), gift baskets with food items (salsa, jams and salad dressings), gravy, jams, jellies, maple syrup, oils and vinegars, salad dressing, and wine, liquor and beer.

Wrapped Gifts. Gifts that are wrapped may be unwrapped at security to be properly examined. TSA recommends to wrap the gift once the traveler reaches their final destination to avoid this hassle.

Weapons and Sharp Objects. Although these items may not be packed in a carry-on bag because they pose a threat to others, they may be packed in checked luggage: Box cutters. ice axes/Ice picks. knives (except for plastic or round bladed butter knives), meat cleavers, razor-type blades (e.g. box cutters, utility knives, and safety razor blades), sabers, scissors with blades longer than 4 inches, and swords.
