This extendable monopod is made of aluminium alloy which makes it waterproof and can therefore be used for taking underwater pictures as well. There are three basic kinds of selfie sticks. The ones that are Bluetooth-enabled with a button on the handle to take a photo. Sticks that plug into a phone's headphone jack, which takes photos by pressing a button on the handle. And sticks that come with a bluetooth remote shutter that is paired with a smartphone and pictures are taken by pressing the remote. The NoxuStick works with this last option. No app needs to be downloaded though to operate this stick. "One of the key features of our selfie stick is the sturdy phone grip which comes with anti-skidding rubber, making it slip-resistant and ensuring customers' phones won't spin or slip out while in the holder," says David Phillips, CEO of Noxu. The phone grip extends to 3.4 inches. This selfie pole can take accessories of up to 35 ounces, which is similar to the weight of a Major League Baseball Bat. This includes all digital cameras with a standard 1/4 inch screw hole at the bottom and most DSLR cameras. It also works with GoPro Hero3, Hero3+ and Hero 4 models. When fully collapsed this selfie stick is 11.8 inches and it extends to 36.6 inches, similar to the length of a yardstick. The stick extends by pulling out each of the three segments which locks by twisting each section.
