JLM Security Products Releases Upgraded MiniMag GPS Tracker Magnetic Case

(IT-NEWSWIRE.COM, May 05, 2015 ) Gulfport, MS -- JLM Security Products, a worldwide provider of innovative surveillance and security solutions, announces the release of the redesigned and upgraded MiniMag GPS Tracker Magnetic Case. "This product was completely redesigned and upgraded because having your expensive GPS tracking device fall off your vehicle is not a good thing" said Jeff Monson - owner of JLM Security Products.

"Most similar products use a ferrite magnet, which just doesn't stand up in all weather and terrain scenarios. All it would take is a speed bump or a pot hole and you've lost your $150 dollar device, not to mention the data you need" Jeff also said, "We opted to go with the strongest commercial grade magnet available. Our new magnet is made of neodymium iron boron, which is known as as the third generation of Rare Earth magnets. We had it plated with pure nickel to ensure that there will be no corrosion. Neodymium magnets are the most powerful and advanced commercialized magnets today. Some would call it overkill, but ask that question to the people that have lost their tracking devices due to a weak ferrite magnet. Investigators have much more important things on their plates when they're working in the field and shouldn't have to worry about that."

The product is simply a small case with a magnet on it. The user puts their GPS tracking device inside and sticks it on the underside of the vehicle they want to track. The case is made of hardened ABS material and has been made to be weather resistant by having a gasket around the rim where the lid and bottom meet. Then a latch snaps down onto the front holding the lid and bottom together tightly. GPS signals will penetrate the ABS, so there is no worry of the GPS signals being blocked.

The aforementioned neodymium Rare Earth magnet is attached to the bottom of the case using a machined screw and washer assembly that goes through the case from the inside, then the threads are sealed with an epoxy-based sealant so that the nut doesn't come inadvertently unscrewed. With this assembly on the inside and the magnet on the outside, it makes it feel like a very solid and high quality product. JLM Security Products does advertise this as a "professional law enforcement-grade product".
