Despite the fact that the manufacturing giant (Samsung) has said that smart watches are the future and the S2 addresses many of the flaws associated with the previous Gear.
Stunning Gadgets received a wave of criticism from bloggers and people commenting on the post. People also took jabs at the company on social media. However, just last year the company posted about best gadgets and the iWatch being a fad and a failed product. Today, everyone knows that the prediction was true despite opening sales being very optimistic for Apple. That said Stunning Gadgets has defended the stance taken on the blog by saying that it's up to traditional watch manufacturers to usher in a new age for watches which give people more information. Many people who venture out use the watches to gauge everything from altitude to temperatures. But more can be done to offer more information without having to solely rely on software to provide the basics like time which is known to be buggy and require subsequent software updates.
"We are not a software company but a tech company. Our gadgets are designed and meant to be useful as well as being very durable. This is why we cannot come up with a newer version every year, unlike other manufacturers. While regular updates like having a new smart watch in the market every year drives technology and revenues it also means that people have to put up with overly expensive and buggy products. But something like a watch needs to be very reliable. Placing this reliability in the hands of software like in the case of smart watches is not a good idea." said the lead technical manager for Stunning Gadgets "...who in the world would want to buy a new watch with a bigger, better, and more vivid display along with a beefier processor each year. Obviously, smart watches shouldn't be designed and meant to follow the same trend as smart phones."

However, most people would be interested in seeing if the latest wave of smart watches and a solar panel phone charger from various manufacturers will really catch on.
